Domestic Services and Healthcare

Main tasks to be carried out
Being with elderly individuals requires a wide range of responsibilities in order to ensure their physical, emotional, and social well-being:
- Personal assistance: helping with daily tasks such as cooking, feeding, personal grooming, dressing, medication application and taking the elderly to hairdressers and barbers, among others;
- Health monitoring: checking blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and performing bandage replacement. This may include taking the elderly to medical appointments;
- Entertaining activities: planning and conducting leisure and social interaction activities, such as card games, puzzles, chess, walks, or other activities that encourage socialization;
- Prevent elderly people from falling and other accidents: ensuring a safe environment which may require handrails installation, non-skid mats, proper lighting and other safety measures;
- Mood and behavior observation: paying attention and be aware of signs of depression, anxiety or other behavioral issues;
- Communication: nurturing the person’s connections and relationships, mainly with family and healthcare professionals, keeping them properly informed to ensure care and attention.
Elderly individuals have free time, but their family members can't always meet that availability.
